BT Telecom Instructions for WB Systems

Overview of this Section

People owning WB Equipment may be interested in the full system handbook for the Wire Broadcast system WB1400. There are many sections in this handbook but most will not be of any use to you. Please respect the limited bandwidth of my web site by only downloading the sections pertinent to the equipment you own.

Which Documents Do You Need?

The links in the table below give full access to the WB1400 Manual and a set of drawings from the training course notes. As the majority of visitors to this page will have access to a limited amount of WB1400 equipment I have attempted to categorise the documentation under the headings below.

System Overview - All Owners

I think most people will be interested in a system overview, take a look or download Section 00, 01 and the Training Notes. The largest file is Section 15, so I would ask you not to view or download this unless you have telephone exchange WB shelves as this only describes the slide in units on those shelves.

WB1400 / WB1401 Receiver Owner

If you have a speech receiver then Section 09 is applicable as it contains a technical description of the working of the receiver. If it is a signalling receiver (siren controller) Section 10 describes this units function.

Carrier Control Point Owner

If you are lucky enough to own a CCP, Section 03 will be helpful but Section 04 is of little use. You may be interested in Section 17 to see how it integrates into the system.

Exchange Apparatus Owner

If you have exchange equipment, then quite a number of sections apply, but as Equipment Exchange bypass were only used in the conversion from WB400 to WB1400 this is of little use unless you own the said item. Sections 02, 05, 06, 07, 12 and 13 are for exchange apparatus only.
